Bruce Levenson Makes 5.6 Million Dollar Donation To Maryland University

Three years ago Bruce and Karen Levenson made a generous 5.6 million dollar donation to the University of Maryland to found The Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. The program was established to teach the next generation of students to embrace a generous spirit of giving back to society. There are many facets to the program at the University. Students are encouraged to participate in competitions that culminate in a large donation to their favorite cause. Also, a study on wikipedia abroad to India that worked with, among other things, youth outreach. The goal of the program is to ensure that all students that graduate from Maryland University graduate with the skills necessary to be dedicated to becoming leaders in nonprofit organizations. Students are able to participate in work study programs with nonprofit organizations while in school and many are sought after for leadership positions upon graduation. “The students will be able to put the skills and experiences they gain from the center to work to impact lives locally, nationally and around throughout the world, ” said Bruce Levenson.
